The
Ft. Gaines Home and Garden Club will be holding its Arts and Crafts
Fair on Saturday, November 19, 2005. The six hour
gala will begin at 10:00 am, Eastern time and is held in the Frontier
Village, on the bluff, overlooking the Chattahoochee River.
There will be numerous vendors selling crafts and Christmas items, as well as food and entertainment for everyone. You'll have the opportunity to watch cane syrup being made and baskets being woven. Within a short walking distance, the Ft. Gaines Methodist Church will be selling chili and delicious desserts in their fellowship hall.
Free entertainment will begin at 10:00 am and the singing and dancing will continue throughout the day.
Tickets, for a beautiful handmade quilt, will be sold in the Club House and the winner will be announced at 3:30 pm.
A shuttle bus, driven by a volunteer fireman, will provide transportation from the Senior Center to the Fort. All donations for the shuttle ride will benefit the Clay County Volunteer Fire Department and are very much appreciated. There is ample parking in this area.
There's something of interest for everyone, including the George T. Bagby State Park and Lodge, if you would like to spend the weekend. If shopping doesn't appeal to you, get in a game of golf at Meadow Links golf course, which was rated by Golf Digest in 1998, at number six in New and Affordable Courses.
Once you get to Fort Gaines, just follow the signs. You'll have a great day of shopping, eating and renewing old friendships.
